The Ophthalmologists at Troy Eye Associates needed to expand their facility to include a same-day surgery center as well as additional exam rooms. Their existing office was too small so they chose to move around the corner and construct a new building on the corner of Jacob and Sixth Street in Troy.

This one story brick building sits at the foot of the hill in Troy, NY. The building uses heavy weight steel studs to support bar joists and an insulated EPDM roof. Roof top HVAC units provide both heating and cooling. Since there are no windows in the exam rooms along the outside walls, several skylights bring daylight to the interior waiting areas of the building.

As in most medical practices, patient flow was critical. At the heart of this facility are two waiting rooms which surround the administrative control desk. The first waiting room inside of the main entrance serves people waiting to check in. The second centralized waiting area was created with several pre-exam screening spaces and seating areas for those under dilation or waiting to see a doctor. The check-in area is on one side of an L shaped open receptionist area, while the check-out is on the other side of the L. Two parallel corridors serve the exam, surgery, and administrative rooms. The surgery and surgery support rooms allow the doctors to provide same day eye surgery as well as laser surgery. A separate optician shop is located off of the main waiting area to provide contact and eyeglass services.

Albany:  Our client purchased a piece of property which had served as a lumber yard until a fire destroyed several of the buildings.  The one remaining building was abandoned and in poor shape.  We renovated it to serve as the sales office and through acquisition of several adjoining properties created a site plan which included another renovated building which serves as prep center and parts department.

After a long review process, including wet land reviews by the Army Corp of Engineers and historic artifacts found on the site, design work is now in process to create a new 40,000 Square Foot headquarters building in Latham, NY.  This facility, designed in a contemporary Adirondack flavor, will house a two story camping retail store, a showroom for RV display, a  5 bay prep shop,  an Adirondack room which can be used for both educational purposes and meetings and office space for both Albany RV Sales and RV One Internet sales.  The project is scheduled to begin construction Spring 2013.

Buffalo:  This is a new     square foot building, which contains indoor RV sales area as well as the parts and RV prep department.
