Description:
THE MONROE, DOWNTOWN ALBANY NY
Cotler Architecture worked closely with the client on the design of this renovation project. The firm and client were able to produce a modern looking apartment building as they integrated an additional story into the building.
The project involved converting an existing four-story masonry building formerly used as a printing plant into a five-story apartment building. The design features a fiber cement cladding system and exposed steel elements to give it a contemporary look. There are 43 apartments units typically 1, 100 square feet with five penthouse 1, 500 square feet units, each overlooking downtown Albany and the Hudson River. The basement design features indoor parking and additional tenant storage.
